Shipping and delivery
Where is The Hijab Fairy based?
We are a woman-owned boutique based in Toronto, Ontario. You can shop online or book a private in-person shopping appointment.
How long does it take to process my order?
Orders are processed within 3 business days, excluding holidays. Orders placed after noon, on weekends or on holidays may begin processing the next business day. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking as soon as your order ships, if the shipping method supports it.
Do you ship outside Canada?
Yes. We ship within Canada, to the United States and to most countries worldwide. Available shipping methods and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination, order weight and the shipping method you choose. Free standard shipping may be available on selected orders, as shown at checkout.
Will I pay duties or taxes on international orders?
International orders may be subject to taxes, customs duties and import or brokerage fees. Where these are calculated and collected at checkout, they will not be due on delivery. If they are not collected at checkout, they may be due on delivery and are the customer's responsibility. See our Shipping Policy for details.
Do you offer local delivery or pickup in Toronto?
Yes. Local delivery and local pickup in Toronto are offered at checkout for eligible addresses.
Sizing
What sizes do you carry?
Our clothing comes in sizes 32 to 60. Available sizes vary by style and are shown on each product page. You can also shop by size, for example Size 40, Size 48 or Size 56.
What does the size number mean?
The size number is the chest measurement of the garment itself, in inches. A size 40 kurta measures 40 inches around the chest. Because this is the garment measurement, choose a size a little larger than your own bust measurement for a comfortable fit. You can also measure a kurta you already own that fits you well and match that number.
What if I am not sure which size to choose?
Email us at info@thehijabfairy.ca with the style you like and your measurements, and we will help you choose. Please check sizing carefully before ordering, because we cannot accept returns for items ordered in the wrong size.
Fabrics and care
What is Chikankari?
Chikankari is a traditional style of hand embroidery from Lucknow, India, worked in fine thread on light fabrics. Our Chikankari pieces are hand embroidered, so small variations make each one unique.
What fabrics do you use?
Our collection includes modal, cotton, mul, viscose, georgette and organza, along with Pashmina blend shawls and abayas. Each product page lists the fabric for that piece.
Are your Pashmina pieces pure Pashmina?
No. Our Pashmina shawls, hijabs and abayas are a Pashmina blend, not pure Pashmina wool.
How do I care for my clothing?
Hand wash in cold water and air dry to maintain the quality and feel of the fabric.
Will the colour look exactly like the photos?
Colour may vary slightly due to lighting and screen settings.
Returns and refunds
What is your return policy?
We accept returns for items that arrive damaged or are different from what you ordered. Please email info@thehijabfairy.ca within 24 hours of receiving your order with your order number, a short description and photos of any damage. Items must be unworn and unused, with original tags and packaging. See our Return and Refund Policy for full details.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer cash refunds. Approved returns receive store credit for the full value of the item. Store credit never expires, and we refund your return shipping cost once the return is approved.
Which items cannot be returned?
Items bought during sales, special offers, exhibitions, bazaars or in-person shopping are final sale. We also cannot accept returns for items ordered in the wrong size.
In-person shopping
Can I shop in person?
Yes. You can book a free, private in-person shopping appointment through our website. Appointments are for ladies only.
Can I try clothes on during my appointment?
We do not offer try-on sessions. To help you choose the right size, please bring a piece of clothing that fits you well so you can compare measurements.
Do online sale prices apply in person?
No. Sale discounts are for online orders only. In-person purchases are not eligible for online sale prices and are final sale.
Gift cards and contact
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Digital gift cards are available on our website.
